This is a render test, using a variation of my tree foliage technique, to produce a forest.
Its currently only using one tree base, but the foliage is unique on each tree, making it harder to spot repetitions. You could, however, use as many tree types as you liked.
Its quite simple to do really -this only took about an hour to make the setup.
Once you have that, Its very fast and easy as all you have to do is simply pick some ground geometry to apply it.
Or you could paint where you want the trees with a weightmap, or you use a Texture map if you so wished.

ps . I decided at the last moment to add some camera movement variation so slapped some keys in willy nilly. I realise its rather robotic.
