This is the best technique I've found so far for getting manual white balance from the Panasonic GH2 underwater. I hold the disc in front of the port (I have a red filter from Aditech which screws onto the port), then point the camera at a bright part of the water surface or white sand. Exposure needs to be shutter priority and auto ISO, so that you don't get Panasonic's "scene too bright/dark" error message. I've absolutely no idea why this method should be so much better than using a white slate. In sunny tropical conditions with good vis., it's good down to at least 30m.
