QUEER, ILL, & OKAY a JRV MAJESTY Production for Poonie's Cabaret @ Links Hall
QUEER, ILL, & OKAY is part of an ongoing series to identify as queer can be a complex and varied experience. To be queer and manage a chronic illness compounds this complexity. It is beautiful. It is complicated. How we engage with community, express our identity, explore relationships is a, challenging and constantly evolving matrix of interactions with the world.
How do we care for ourselves? How do we discuss our illnesses and their intersections with our other identities? What do we do to care for ourselves and our community? What turns us on? What turns us off? What traditions have we created in our daily lives? How can we continue to challenge how the world and our own communities view us?
QUEER, ILL, & OKAY for Poonie's Cabaret seeks to engage a dialogue through visual and multimedia performance on what it means for our community and artists to be QUEER, ILL & OKAY.
