WHISPERING GOTHIC, also known as GOTHIQUE FRÉMISSANT or as RAUSCHENDE GOTIK, is a contemporary video installation/environment by French sculptor Françoise Jolivet (francoisejolivet.net) and New York-born film director Roy Lekus (gothiquefremissant.eu). It will be created for the first time in the Saint-Ouen Abbey in Rouen, France from April 12 thru April 27, 2014, as part of the upcoming "Cathedrals" exhibition at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen.
WHISPERING GOTHIC transforms the nave of Gothic churches in Europe and around the world into an endlessly moving, quivering alleyway of trees in which the pillars become tree trunks, and the vaulted ceiling treetops. We see and hear the trees in 12' cycles representing the change of seasons and times of day.
Entrance is free.
