A short Blender animation showing one day of Mercury's orbit - the time it takes to revolve on it's own axis once. This is of course 24 hours on Earth, but on Mercury takes 58 days 15 hours 30 minutes! This is compressed to only 10 seconds in this film.
Rendered with Blender internal and using new geological data from NASA's Messenger mission, and a milky way map provided by ESA.
