While I am certain the apartment alone is spectacular, somehow, Gary, you manage to make each place look even more . . . "I want to live there".
  • gary nadeau plus 2 years ago
Thanks again Matthew. Luckily most every person I interview really has a strong POV. I appreciate your feedback always.

i feel a lot better about painting my apartment in primary colors. Lot's of reds, yellows and lime greens. Could be confused for a childs play room, but hey...it keeps me productive

    Wow Gary
I think this is your most "Fun-Story" video yet.
Great character development, not much on paint. Fantastic apartment.
  • gary nadeau plus 2 years ago
Thanks Rusty. I know what you mean aboutpaint - but It's tough to talk about an orange wall for too long. "It's a wall - it's orange - it used to be white..." ;) Thanks for watching and your comments. Much appreciated!
  • Rusty Rogers plus 2 years ago
I used to own an orange sofa.

yet again... another great one for the résume. I like the hand-held camera work, which lends itself well to Brad's personality and apartment.

nice one, the shooting/direction style matched the character. This was a Canon 5D? Whats about the sound?
  • gary nadeau plus 2 years ago
The sound was done on a separate recorder. We had some issues that day. Luckily it turned out okay.

Really liking your work Gary there is a lovely energy to the edits and movement in this. I notice you have worked with both the EX1 and D5, Im thinking of replacing my EX1 with the D5, any thoughts or preferences between the two? Thank you.
  • gary nadeau plus 2 years ago
thanks again Robert. I just replaced my ex1 - with a 5d. The ex1 one is a great cam but I really love the dof and freedom the 5d gives me while shooting. In post ex1 "workflow" is definitely easier.

Thanks Gary good to here your point of view, I still haven't quite decided but I think I have started myself on an irrevocable path to buying the 5d
  • gary nadeau plus 2 years ago
Do it - you wont regret.
  • Robert Shaw plus 2 years ago
Haha, glad you said that Gary, sold the ex1 and got the 5d this week :)

    good mood and colors !
wich mic do you used with the 5D ?
  • gary nadeau plus 2 years ago
I usually bring in pro sound guy with own recorder and mics. When i shoot on my own or with smaller crew I use the Zoom ha4n and a rhodes boom and senheiser lavs.

I've been watching your work all morning... its amazing. Quick question. What did you use to achieve the grain look?
  • gary nadeau plus 2 years ago
Thanks so much - where there's grain I used Magic Bullet Looks. They have a preset where you can adjust.
