In this run each ant's feeler covers an area about 1/40 of the size of the screen across. Each feeler has 39 tips to sense the marks on the screen, which correspond with 39 directions of turn. So far this is the largest size and most tips for feelers and a different behaviour/mark has resulted which hasn't occurred in any previous runs. Areas of subtle parallel striations sweep across the surface, wavering and changing direction as a group. There is also more colour differentiation than usual. This started with a continuum of orange through to green ants, and while there is lots of mixing, areas of clear colour also come and go, showing an increased responsiveness of each ant to it's own colour, much more than usual. I can't explain why these differences have emerged with the larger, more detailed sensor, at this point.
