Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds Feeding - 720p / 60 FPS - Kodak Zi8 & Sony ECM-DS70P

Two ruby-throated hummingbirds (Archilochus colubris) drinking simple home-made "nectar" from a small feeder.

The "nectar" in this clip contains red food coloring, but we have since discontinued its use. Even though the evidence of its being harmful to hummingbirds is not yet iron-clad; it's better to err on the side of caution.

The feeder and camera are mounted on a simple tripod-supported rig, home-made for this purpose; the microphone is supported by a right-angle adapter plugged directly into the camera.
