The first of a series of collaborations between Singapore-based music labels B and Midnight Shift, B X Midnight Shift brings in an International Mystery Guest veteran, one of the world’s techno connoisseurs, for his debut to our shores from Spain.
A burgeoning label in Singapore notorious for their underground parties in nondescript locations, B has previously brought in Tommy Four Seven, Perc and Mix Architekt to mystery locations in Singapore. The label stands alone independently; an autonomous entity free in spirit, where music is symbiotic to its environment.
Representing the B side for the night will be its founder-duo, releasing a techno onslaught informed by percussive sounds and the environment for an experiential experiment in time.
On the Midnight Shift end, founder and also club kyo’s Music Manager, Kavan Spruyt, takes to the hallowed decks for the first time. Often playing the background role to his peers, Kavan steps up to the plate, rinsing his bright, energetic, technically skilled yet fundamentally indefinable sets since Midnight Shift’s founding. This once in a blue moon is surely not to be missed.
Our International Mystery Guest has been instrumental in shaping the techno world. From his affiliation to imprints such as Pure Plastic, Tresor, Warm Up Recordings, Pole Recordings, Tsunami and Main out to his critically acclaimed audio-visual performances. His arrival is a milestone in the local techno community’s progression.
On visual accompaniment will be stalwart with vision, Burrows, who has been framing the look of our music landscape since 2008.
