A drive on I-70 West in Emery County Utah, through the infamous San Rafael Swell. The San Rafael Swell is a rock formation about 70 miles long and 40 miles wide that was a major obstacle for early settlers and railroads. Interstate Highway 70, being the only paved road that passes through the swell, follows Spotted Wolf Canyon (1:50), a slot canyon that was only six feet wide before highway workers blasted it out for the interstate.
Also, Look to the left at 1:40 and you will see a truck laying on it's side in the ditch. It was eastbound and lost it's brakes on the long 6% downgrade through the canyon. He managed to avoid colliding with the canyon, but couldn't make the turn coming out of the canyon. It looked like the truck slid on it's side for about 1/8 mile before finally stopping in a shallow ditch.
