NEW time-lapse video

Original Post with background and photos
kontain.com/david/entries/55242/exclusive-time-lapse-footage-of-the-miracle-on-the-hudson/

Exclusive unseen time lapse video footage of the Miracle on the Hudson, US Airways flight 1549 as it is struggling to stay afloat and avoid the barrage of an ice attack. An unsung hero was the Airbus A320 which survived a crash landing, sinking and safely contained 155 Humans.

I shot these clips from a cheap compact Canon camera. The plane came to a strop outside my apartment here in NYC. Most of the footage on TV from CNN, NY Post, NBC and ABC was filmed from my apartment over those 3 days.

I seem to be the only one that captured the lift in time-lapse, i just regret I didnt have my Canon 5d Mark ii back then.

David Martin, This is just outstanding work. I'm watching at work, so I couldn't hear the audio, but time-elapse tells such a great story. I was totally interested in how they got the plane out, and now I know in complete detail. Fasinating! Awesome job! Thx!

David, Well worth the leg-work and camera set-up work. I'm on the exact other side of river, I've always been fascinated by the power of Hudson.

The images of the Airbus frozen in were an amazing site.

    Thanks!

    Nice production work, bad narrative.

"Neither a crash landing nor the pounding ice assault could take down this little human saver"

...no, but a few little birdies could :)

Nice editing job. Made me laugh when the plane came out of the water, it really put a sense of scale on the size of the crane. Made the plane look like a kids toy.

Beautiful! hello, Neighbor! we were in your bldg, and I must congratulate you on your patience, for it seemed to take very, very long. Wonderful editting and music. Thank you! My friend Will of Tugster has a write up, and I was listening to VHF radio and caught the talk of the men who worked to raise the plane:

Nice tribute. I'm glad somebody took a moment to think of the plane. And I don't think there was anything melodramatic about it.
