I filmed this to showcase some visual effects I had recently tested, using an HV20 with wide angle lens recording at 60i. Editing and VFX was done using Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop. This file is the 720p HD version.

Thanks! I am planning on doing longer, more story-driven stuff in the future. Of course, before then I will most likely be doing more tests. :)

Good stuff. Liked it a lot. Would be cool to see it edited as a 'western gunslinger' parody with appropriate soundtrack, but what do I know! Anyway, enjoyed it.

Why thank you, thank you all. I will now have to add an actual storyline to my next major video project. :)

Me agrada, pero creo que seria bueno camara mas dinamica ;)

Very innovative, indeed! I have all the software which you mentioned but unfortunately I do not know how to use them? Its frustration! Good video by Canon HV20.

Very slick! The big effects are tight but I also like the subtle ones like the atmospheric heat distortion. Very well done.

I like the whole concept, the effects and even the music chosen but the location itself is throwing me off. I would have envisioned a dark location, perhaps in an abandoned warehouse or something.
  • Christopher Nelson 2 years ago
Yeah, me too. Except that I wouldn't have been able to show the "absorb effect" with the fake sun inside a warehouse. Whoops!

Okay, so I just commented on your previous test video and here I am 2 minutes later seeing the effect in a scene - doh! Good work - my take would be to avoid cliches - like this Matrix style pastiche and go with something more original. My two cents would be to use a real world situation that holds tension, like a job interview. Imagine this fat spectacled interviewer rattling out questions from a large corporate folder, as the camera zooms into the sweating interviewee. Finally, the interviewer stops and asks, 'What can you do?' the interviewee says 'throw that folder right at me' The interviewer looks at he folder, as if to say this. The interviewer screams 'do it!' The folder is pitched at the interviewer wildly, the interviewee brings up his forcefield and the folder bounces straight back and knocks out the interviewer. I'd call that 'hidden talent' Somebody go make that and post it up...it's a challenge.

lol.. loved it. What big dudes can get pwned? If I had one suggestion I'd play some music with the title and perhaps even move the guys to a rooftop. But great work.
