To close out the C3 pilot program at Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence, students had a discussion about what it means to be a man or a woman in today's society, wrote a poem based on their answers, then translated that poem visually with paint.
After ETF President Marquis Victor led the discussion and worked with students on their poetry, Elevated Thought artist David Christopher taught students how to paint using acrylics after helping guide their ideas through the sketching process.
For most of the students it was their first time using acrylics and, for all them, their first time working with a professional artist. This is a snippet of our C3 program. Elevated Thought is planning with organizations and schools with high-risk students to run our program on a wider scale. Please visit our site to find out how you can support our mission.
