1. LOUDER THAN LOVE-The Grande Ballroom Story
2 years ago
While the West Coast was groovin' to the sounds of the "Summer of Love" in 1967, Detroit was pumping out a hard-driving, gritty and raw sound that was "Louder Than Love." The Grande Ballroom stood as the epicenter of the Detroit rock music scene that spawned in the late ‘60s. Serving as the starting point for bands such as MC5, Iggy & The Stooges, Ted Nugent & The Amboy Dukes and more, the Grande not only influenced local Detroit musicians but inspired bands from all over the U.S. and Great Britain. Legendary acts like Led Zeppelin, Cream, B.B. King, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd and the Who soon began to grace the stage at the Grande on a regular basis. This story is about the hallowed halls that started it all, told by the artists who helped create its epic stature.

Bravo!!! Anyone who listens to Rock&Roll, knows who the greats are, the ones from a blues bent to metal mania, you know the greats. Most of those greats had a roll through Detroit and the Mecca for R&R was the Grande Ballroom in the time when rock became a major part of our lives. This pre-view is outstanding as it brings the Grande back to life and makes me salivate for the complete show. The interviews done with these legends are tight, heartfelt, and memorizing. Nothing but a solid well done to this D'Annunzio guy, obviously anther extremely talented Irish boy with a great and ear, eye and mind for music.

I saw Tony on a Fox Channel show this morning and this really got me excited. I went to the Grande Ballroom from 1967-1971 and saw some incredible shows. I also contributed some photos to the film so I look forward to when this film premiers!
