This is a prototype of re·place which is an interactive installation that works as an unconventional mirror. A person standing in front of the screen can see an image of another person in the same posture. The image comes from the recordings of people’s postures who have visited the installation before. Multiple screens can be connected translocally. By moving around, the participant can explore the poses of previous people. Once finding a pose that hasn’t been recorded yet, the participant can see their own image. The project can trigger discussion on identity through other people, unexpected encounters with strangers and the role of memory in a connected environment.
