I almost cried, until the happy ending. I have an admission to make; I haven't made the DVD copy I promised you yet because I've been super busy. I'll do it later this week and get it out out you. Sorry!

I love a happy ending, too! You are going to buy a back-up hard drive now, right? Right? Oh, and send your friend who gave you the PSU a gift... perhap a basket of Marmite!
  • Bill 7 months ago

Bill, this was a beautiful story. Thumbs up for the open-heart surgery. I loved the serenade part too. And your beautiful cat. And the cool striped mug.
  • Bill 7 months ago
Thanks Capucha. I am so relieved!

    Hoooooooooooorraaaaaaaaayy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great video Bill. I liked all the stuff you tried to fix it, and was incredibly surprised that the singing didn't work. Well done on fixing it.

We've recently been having a lot of Mac troubles, so I know what you went through. Ours was a software problem, so we could turn ours on, but couldn't get into OSX - You can imagine how frustrating that was! After scouring the internet to no avail, I called the support line. The first guy had to get help, then the next guy was surprised at how much I had done, but he said all we could do was reset it and start again :(
Fortunately we had recently backed almost all of it up, so we didn't loose too much.

But you're right, never take your computer for granted, and ALWAYS BACK EVERYTHING UP! haha!
  • Bill 7 months ago
Glad to hear you didnt loose much! I dont even try apple support anymore. They've never replied to my emails.

06:03 has the same emotional impact as the scene in ET when he comes back to life.

Brilliant. I loved this. My idea of what video blogs should be , personal, witty, funny and most importantly a message.

Oh, what's the name of that song which is played on your journey to the Uni? I really like it. I don't know where I've heard it before. I think it's from Football Factory. Thanks.

Well spotted. But believe me....I tried every socket, lead, plug and fuse before resorting to making love with my dead mac.

When you say "show your computer some love", does surfing amateur porn count?
  • Bill 7 months ago
    Absolutely not.

That part where you were crying was well funny, and the bit where you changed your mind about the food actually make me laugh out loud haha.
Really enjoyed that mate, congrats on saving your Mac.
  • Elliot Clowes 7 months ago
Yeah, the food part was so funny.

Hey Bill, I've got this old HP lap top that has gone devoid of funk on me. You any good with PCs? I've tried singing and cursing. Doesn't seem to help.
  • Bill 7 months ago
Im useless at mending things! It is a miracle that I managed to repair my mac. Have you tried pouring a bucket of water over it.....give it a good clean.
  • Steve Holt 7 months ago
That's a good thought, but it would probably be more effective if I stuck my head in the bucket of water. Might refresh my thinking.

Awww man that brought back so many memories of my old G4 tower :'(

My power supply died too!! I looked into how much it would cost for a replacement and it just wasn't worth it for me.

My iMac is cute and all, but that G4 had so much history! :p

Oh, and just so you know, when your computer dies like that, you can take out the hard drive and put it in an external case go get to the files !!
  • Bill 6 months ago
Thats good to know. Ive put nearly everything on an external hard drive now.
