In October 2010, the New Zealand Kiwifruit industry was devastated when it was hit by PSA, forcing most growers to cut out their vines and start again, from the ground up. While the bacteria infection doesn't harm the fruit in any way it slowly kills the vine which in turn stops the production of fruit. The Gold Kiwifruit has turned to a new breed of vine in hope that it will be better in the fight against PSA. Although not perfect it is doing a great job in helping many Gold Kiwifruit growers get back on their feet. For more info on PSA and how the industry is doing go to kvh.org.nz .

This video was filmed early 2013. Most of the time they pick during the day, but the fruit needed to come off that day so they got the lights out and picked into the night. Since the lighting looked awesome I couldn't pass up the opportunity to snap a couple of happy workers.
