During my scouting for a job last week, I took my new Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera with me to test it and when we got to this incredible artist's studio, I spent all the time I could to shoot everything that was around. It's all shot hand held, so there's some heavy shaking in some shots, sorry. Of course all is natural light and the lens is just an all around lens I use just for scouting. It's pretty sharp I must say, but not fast enough, as you can see from some of the darker shots in the black areas. It's the 3.5-5.6 version, with the power OIS, but even with the stabilizer, I recommend at least a monopod.
I graded in Resolve, great software, although I'm a true beginner with the telecine.
So, I'm going back to shoot a couple of scenes for a commercial in that location. We'll have an Alexa and a BMCC as A&B cameras, but I definitely will take this little kick-ass pocket size camera with me. I want to see how she does with some decent light and some good primes on it. Cheers.
