The hot topic for organisations at the moment is how to retain employees and ensure they are engaged with their work and the organisation in order to guarantee maximum productivity.
Ricky, an executive coach and leadership expert, emphasised that an engaged workplace doesn’t happen by luck, it takes conscious effort and intentional planning to come to fruition. A couple of the areas that Ricky mentions will contribute to an engaged workplace include:
-Empowering employees to be involved in thinking and doing opportunities;
-Ensuring the organisation has a commitment to a set of values and behaviours that focus on high performance and results;
-Creating an environment where continual learning opportunities are available and employees are challenged;
-Focusing on communication and relationships; and
-Recognising and rewarding employees for their efforts.
