Dr. Ian Charlton believes that both bikes and Public transport can help us fight obesity in Australia.

Ian likes to ride around on his racing bike when not doing house calls on his sit up bike. I've filmed him a lot because he has good ideas and is great talent. He's on my blog. datillo.wordpress.com/

We both agree that we must change or at least add to our local bike culture, bringing in the sit-up bikes such as most people in Europe ride when they just want to go somewhere.

Like me too, Ian's excited by the Bike Share schemes which are sweeping the world. But he too wonders if we will get them here, given the roadblock that our compulsory helmets laws put in their way.

How do you automatically dispense a helmet along with the bike on the street? There seems to be no way.

Thanks to David Hembrow, Mikael Colville-Andersen, Genevieve Bailey and Violeta Brana Lafoucade for helping to make this.

You can see Dvid from the back on one of the cycle-ways near where he live in assen holland. His great blog is, view from the cyclepath,
