Residents of Anglesea, Victoria are concerned about the health and other impacts of the 150MW Alcoa Anglesea Power Station and coal mine. The Power Station produces toxic and carcinogenic air pollution, and it's smoke stack is less than one kilometre from the local primary school. It creates air pollution in excess of what would be allowed in the United States, Alcoa's home country, and above the recommended WHO guidelines. The Power Station exclusively supplies power to Alcoa's Point Henry aluminium smelter. Local residents have a positive vision of Alcoa acting responsibly and replacing Anglesea Power Station with renewable energy, including wind and solar.
