Pretty sure you wouldn't need a release for anything like this even in the US. They were filmed in public and aren't for sale. Of course that doesn't mean someone couldn't sue in theory since you can get sued for looking at someone funny, but just cause someone can sue doesn't mean they'll win.
If it is for commercial use you do really. It's a similar thing in the UK, unless you are filming for news. Less than 6 seconds of one featured person and you need a release.
Great. Thanks! I'll try it out. By the way I've watched a number of your videos. You've got a fantastic eye. You create some really stunning videos. Cheers.
This is an interesting and entertaining study of people in an iconic location. The shots have wonderful clarity, and the limited depth of field is masterfully applied.
Very nice work. One thing I've been wondering however, when pointing this out to a friend he noticed the blurry sides of the video, as with many other ex1 + letus extreme videos.. Is it the lens that causes this or does the letus extreme play a part in that?
this was my first letus and ex1 video. If you look at later works like death valley, kubalsky's shibuya, red red rocks, alone in tokyo etc they have the ex1 optimisation kit which is a new achromat designed to work better with the ex1 lens creating perfect edge to edge sharpness
When I grow up, I want to be you!
I love filming people that are filming or taking pictures.
It's so weird to think that I've shot in some of the same places as you.
My college's naked Canon HV20 doesn't look quite as pretty as this though :(
So great to watch you work! I'm working hard because I would like some day you will say the same about my work. I have two questions: Did you use the interval rec for the time laps? How was the shutter for the time laps?

I wish to Sony Ex1 colors for my canon XH-A1 not sure if custom preset will do ?
My fav clip of yours.
Keep it up Philip.
ps: 2:26, is it Seth Rogen? lol
Odd how the music makes Piccadilly feel like an alien planet.
Excellent video.
Cool. Let me buy you a beer some day.....
(just curious) thanks for posting your stuff. I love it.
Thanks,
Phil

by the way, what is the song?
Best regards.
Plus love the Velvet Underground.

What kind of crew (size) do you go out with when you shoot a vid like this?
Thanks!
The low light capability of that camera is amazing!
