"She's Lost Control" is the name of a song by English rock band Joy Division, which talks about a woman out of control. The author of the letter and lead singer of the band, Ian Curtis, wrote this song after watching a woman undergoing an epileptic seizure. He also suffered from this disease, and committed suicide at the of age 23, in Manchester, in the 1980s.
The focus of this choreographic research is losing control. In other word, it presents the notions of having balance and lacking balance. It was a cross-disciplinary process, involving a collective of architects and designers (Bijaris – São Paulo – Brazil), as well as a filmmaker who created the video projections and dance films. Additionally, we had some dialogues with Olgária Matos, an important Brazilian philosopher, on the subject of weight, lightness, control and decontrols, as tools of cross disciplinary process.
