Shot on a three-hour tour, literally.
Sharpe Houseboats out of Somerset, Ky., makes some of the most beautiful cruising condos you'll ever see. Houseboat magazine was lucky enough to catch up with Dan and Jessica Corns, who recently took delivery of their new boat on Lake Cumberland this summer. It was a day to remember.
We employed more crane work than usual on this video, but the top deck of a houseboat just seemed perfect for it. My tripod and its loose collar, not so much. It gets a little shaky atop a houseboat. A heavy weight under the center post would have been a good idea. Hindsight. 20-20.
The footage was captured with a 5D Mark II and 24mm TS and 135mm L lenses. We also employed a wireless lav in tandem with a Zoom H4n. It was edited in Final Cut Express.
Just a side note to DSLR still-shooters out there. All the stills in this piece were shot with natural light.
Note: The track music was swapped out. You can hear Ron Bowdery's fine piece, "Serengeti," at unsignedbandweb.com, but the track now in place is Revolve, by hisboyelroy, found at ccmixter.org.
