In September 2013, more than 50 civil rights leaders met in San Francisco to discuss the next steps in the immigrant rights movement at the federal, state and local level -- and how women, LGBTQ communities and immigrant rights groups could work together to protect the rights of all of their communities.
The forum was co-sponsored by New America Media and 15 other organizations including ASPIRE, API Equality-Northern California, California Immigrant Policy Center, California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance, California Women's Agenda, Community United Against Violence, East Bay Immigrant Youth Coalition, Equal Rights Advocates, LYRIC, Mujeres Unidas y Activas, Our Family Coalition, Out4Immigration, San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women, TIGRA and Women's Intercultural Network.
