1. Aggressive Killer Gun "Teaser" Music Video
6 months ago
This music video was inspired by the concept of a new startup company created by two friends of mine. It was shot with the "DV rebel" mindset which means trying to do more with less. The no-budget production was shot by a full crew of two.

We used a JVC-HD100 HDV camera and four 700W quartz lights.

Director/DP: Miltos Pilalitos
Music: Thanos Papadelis
Associate producer: Levon Avakian
Talents: Nayla, Alice, Corina, Chryssa and Joni.

Very nice! Any chance to upload your work in 720p at 4 or 5 mbps? I've seen some of your other commercials and I am a fan. They look amazing. :)
  • Miltos Pilalitos 5 months ago
Thanks Eugenia! Unfortunately i had to shot this video at 480p because i wanted 60fps and the HD100 can't handle more than 30fps at 720p.

I would prefer not to clutter Vimeo with my TV commercials so i have to shoot some new (more personal) 720p stuff!

Superb, and what a difficult job it must have been having to look at those glorious ladies all day long.
  • Miltos Pilalitos 5 months ago
Actually, it was double difficult because we shot this during a weekend and i had two full days to work with them. Mission impossible... :-)

Your a brave man, suffering for the sake of art. One can only imagine the tedium of helping them apply makeup and try on different outfits of scantness.

    Soldier on ;)

And don't even get me started on the shower shots...

The worst thing is that my friends (the ones who started that clothing brand) want me to shoot some more videos soon. How can you say no to friends?

Brilliant. Do you need someone to come and hold the shampoo? I'm cheap..... hell I'm free ;)
  • Miltos Pilalitos 5 months ago
It's very likely that the next ones will be shot with the RED camera so i could always use an extra pair of hands just to move that heavy beast around!

I appreciate the offer, will keep you posted... ;-)

Would love to hear how it goes with the old Red. I'm a long way from being skilled enough with one of those to justify the rental cost but they are the business for slow mo with shallow DOF. Cant wait to see the footage.

Keep on practicing with that Brevis!

The RED camera should arrive next week so it will not take too long before i post my first RED tests here in Vimeo.

After reading this conversation there is nothing to add....just "I'm amazed what is possible with that low equipment, and I guess...a lot of post production ;)"

    Very very nice....
  • Miltos Pilalitos 3 months ago
Post production helped for sure in removing a lot of digital noise from the sensor and the Letus adapter. :)

    Thanks!

    Hi Miltos,

How did it go with the big red? I'd love to see some shots. Also, do you have any other vids? I might be interested in using your services to make a vid for one of my songs. Budget is low ofcourse.

    Cheers
    Gavin

The RED is fine but a little tired because she is working non stop since April :)

I was planning to shoot and post here some stuff but those TV commercial projects never stop to arrive... Sometimes i don't know if i am blessed or cursed to have so much work.

However things look as if they will slow down in July-August so i will finally have some time to work on two short film screenplays that i plan to make this fall-winter.

I don't have almost anything online of my work besides very few things like this one: box.net/public/static/iat9e0lrj6.wmv (which was shot with a LetusHD100 adapter :-)

I am traveling abroad now but next week i will return home and maybe i will post some more things here. (this is not a promise :-) hehe)

Thanks Miltos!! I'm looking into a cheap flight to Greece. This piece was phenomenal. You need to come to Miami.
  • Miltos Pilalitos 2 months ago
It's funny that you mentioned Miami because i was thinking to fly there with my girlfriend for a week or so last month. Maybe we were influenced a little by 'Burn Notice'. :-) Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts we never made it to come. :-(

Greece is too damn expensive lately. I feel the citizens will riot soon if the situation continues! :-) I advise you to save the money for a later time when the Dollar-Euro exchange is more favorable for you.

If you guys make it to Miami, please let me know. It's a great time in South Beach. Funny you mentioned Burn Notice; I have a couple of actor friends that have landed some pretty good parts. I'll keep an eye on the Euro.
  • Miltos Pilalitos 2 months ago
Thanks Ray. I would like to meet a fellow movie maker from Miami.

Let's see what the future will bring! I'll keep in touch. :-)

Nice shots, and considering the crew number it is amazing what you put together, even I didn't understand the story line. What did you use to edit the footages?
  • Miltos Pilalitos 1 month ago
Thanks Zsolt! I edited it with Vegas 7 and did some grain removal with Eyeon's Fusion 5.

I know what you mean about the storyline. It's very cryptic... :-) Maybe if we manage to shoot a follow up video (with RED!, yeah!) we will make everything more clear!

    Thanks again!
