Incredible! I love this little green touch...
It seems the Roadrunner and Willy Coyote places! ;)
Joke a part... Wonderful work Philip, you are a great cinematographer! Sincerely...
First off, WOWOWOAOAOWAWOW Awesome!
Secondly, how do you export to such great quality from a 3 minute piece and fit it into just 82 MB? Are you using compressor or final cut>settings?
Cheers Stephen. It's actually a smaller file size than I wanted. I only had 70mb left to upload this week (not sure why it is now 82mb). I exported the project out of FCP as current settings then opening it in quicktime and exported 720p settings at 2500kps. Normally my HD stuff is 3500 kps as it looks better.
great philip; i have been following your site and footage for a while via your site and loved it; glad to see you've now put some stuff up on vimeo; a really generous and inspiring variation of work, many thanks, julyen hamilton
Amazing stuff. Do you play around with post selective blur too, or is it all from the Letus? Love your colour grading by the way - very different from your London footage, I think.
Hi Rico, those shots are done using a 65mm Hartblei Shift tilt lens, used very heavily in my South Bank Short alongside the 85mm version. My favourite use of it is on the shot with the title on it at the beginning.
I have loved your work ever since I have discovered the Letus.
I'm an aspiring filmmaker from the New York area who has unlimited "ideas" however extremely finite resources.
1. Would you ever consider working on either a fictional narrative, or a TV-pilot "pro-bono", if the material were substantial enough?
2. Assuming that question 1 is a pipe-dream, what advice would you give to someone who only has a little more than two-thousand dollars for a camera, and wanted to transform "professional" quality ideas into reality?
