Two villages in Ethiopia that are very remote, in one case so far from water that they had to walk 5km each way everyday to get water. No one in the village spoke English or was literate. In Ethiopian English is an aspirational language. After a certain age all schooling is in English. So there was desire and support from the village leads for these kids to have an opportunity to learn English. One tablet was given to each child with not instruction not even how to turn them on. After having the tablets for a year -- with no other instruction this is some of what we saw.
