Without reliable internet service and a computer lab, it is difficult to implement the concept of students as Citizen Scientists utilizing Cornell’s comprehensive web-based database eBird.org. Solving this challenge at the Las Brisas school, teacher Roni Chernin created a Power Point presentation covering some of eBird’s many facets. In this video she combines that presentation with some concepts from Lessons 7 and 8 by introducing bird family silhouettes shapes along with correctly named body parts for use in field identification. Producer: Alison Olivieri. Camera and editing: Andrew England.
