The Antipode Room is the first novel in the Australian Fugue series of literary novels by Ruth Skilbeck, and is her first novel published by Postmistress Press,
This video is the Postmistress Press pitch for the novel, for crowd funding pre-orders, of The Antipode Room as eBook and/or printed book. In the video Ruth Skilbeck explains that she has started up the first author-publisher press in Australia to publish literary novels, PhD and MA theses, and literary arts writing by Australian and international authors. Ruth Skilbeck is an arts journalism and contemporary media arts specialist who has lived and worked in Dublin, Ireland, London and Sydney, as a journalist, arts writer and university researcher and lecturer. She has published many dozens of essays and articles with her photographs, in leading arts periodicals, national newspapers and magazines, academic peer reviewed books and journals, and she has worked as a writer and presenter for the BBC World Service Book Choice program. After she has published her own books, if this project is successful, she will publish books by other authors. Please help support new literary writing and publishing by making a pledge for a pre-ordered copy of The Antipode Room. The pre ordered copies will be in a limited first edition, of signed printed books, and eBooks will include a list of supporter/participants (unless they do not wish their name included and this is specified). This is a chance to participate in a historical literary moment: The Antipode Room, is the first publication of the first author-publisher press in Australia which is linking Australia into alignment with a new author-press movement that has already taken off in the US and UK. Further information about Ruth Skilbeck’s books and Postmistress Press can be found on Ruth’s blog: The Daily Fugue ruthskilbek.blogspot.com.au.
