The panel brings together chairs or key participants from a number of COST funded Actions from several domains—Individuals, Societies, Cultures and Health (ISCH), Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) — as well as a Trans-Domain Action), a Science Officer from the COST Office and will be complemented by a representative of the Memory of the World programme of UNESCO.
The panel aims to look into the links between on-going digital library research and emerging new areas from the point of view of multi-national cooperation focused on particular research domains. Some of the participating actions are aiming to deepen particular subject domain knowledge, for example mediaeval heritage or world documentary heritage. Others look at novel methods and tools, for example web-based data collection, or quality in multimedia systems.
