“The Excursion Series” invites the viewers to experience the intangibility of Architecture and Design. Focusing on the detailing, spatial experience and value, form and structure, components and materials, the series becomes a tribute to these works and their designers, besides triggering possibilities on reinterpretation based on understanding of the viewers; their emotional connections and creative minds.
The Excursion Series: Serpentine Pavilion 2013
“It is a really fundamental question how architecture is different from nature, or how architecture could be part of nature, or how they could be merged... what are the boundaries between nature and artificial things” - Sou Fujimoto (Architect)
There stood the structure, in the most transparent manner possible, in the heart of London, in the lawn of the Serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park. Designed by Sou Fujimoto, this pavilion is an ‘architectural landscape’ that emphasizes on the interaction between visitors; enabling them to explore the design in any ways possible; front, back, sides, under, above and inside.
