ARC Chairman Tad Leithead presented the annual State of the Region address on Friday, November 1, 2013 in which he unveiled the findings of a new public opinion survey called “Metro Atlanta Speaks”. The survey is one of the most extensive in the region’s history and provides ARC with the perspective of regional residents on quality of life issues like education, transportation, housing and the economy.
According to the survey, in spite of lingering concerns about the region’s economy, nearly 70 percent of respondents rated metro Atlanta as a good or excellent place to live. Some 88 percent of respondents see public transportation as important to the region’s future and more than 75 percent of us would like to see future development occur in existing communities.
