Thanks Steven, I think the key is to shoot like you are shoot a film. I have seen a lot of 5D/7D footage that is not lit, planned, composed or anything, just test shots and they look sloppy. Using sensible lighting and composition makes any camera look more filmic. I have modified the settings in the camera a bit, and have tweaked the colors a bit in post too, but I think it largely comes from the way the shots are done and not the camera shooting them.
