11. A look at Bellinge Church (Easter)
Bellinge Church in the southern part of Odense, Denmark, was built in the 13th century. It's a typical Danish medieval village church (few have murals / frescoes inside like this one, though - painted in 1496. During the reformation they were covered with white chalk for puritan reasons and luckily enough, this has helped preserve them until they again were found and restored hundreds of years later).

About 1770 medieval village churches can be found in Denmark - most were built between the year 1200-1250.

I used my Kelko 0.5x wideangle, Lomography super wide fisheye and a Cokin filter (gradual ND) for some of the shots.

Music by: Niels Lan Doky "Misty dawn".

thank you, thank you! We don't get to see such beautiful old churches here in the United States. :-) I'm considering buying the Canon hg10 ... how do you like shooting with it?

I love it, but then again, it's my first camcorder and I have nothing to compare to.

AVCHD (mpeg4-Bluray) is hard on the PC. Rendering (saving to WMV) this film that had only basic editing took about 40 minutes on my PC. Not a problem if you're patient, though :)

it takes me about 20 minutes to convert 1 minute of video on average to wmv in pinnacle studio 11 plus on amd x2 4400+, win xp, 4 gig.

my computer is usually converting over night on long projects.

I just ordered my HG10 today, so I'm pretty excited! :-) I enjoyed your vide so much that I posted it on my blog:

    catholicservantleader.blogspot.com/2008/03/easter-meditations.html

I needed a new laptop, so I'm buying a new Macbook to go with the HG10. I had heard that video takes a long time to compile, so I'm planning on following Brian's example, and letting it convert over night.

Cool, thank you :) I'm actually not a very religious person (like most Christian Danes) but I'm very interested in history and architecture. I've traveled quite a bit in the USA and to be honest, your churches aren't God's best creations :)

You can find replicas of these churches in a few towns in the US where Danes settled.

Beautiful. I love the inside shots the best. Those are some cool murals. Like Warneka said we don't have stuff like that in the States.
