    Flat out MAD!!!!! Totally off TAP!!! but after seeing this I am more convinced that the 5DM2 can hold it's own over the overpriced RED ONE.

    not true, water housing on the 5d and there is not one shot you could not reproduce . I would trust canon over RED any day , after all canon has been making cameras for decades , while RED is made by a company that make sunglasses , highly over rated and over priced camera. But don't get me wrong ,I thinking the filming and editing is awesome ..... Just not a fan of the RED.

    Getting some of the shots, sure. But considering the 5D records in compressed h.264, only 30 fps, and 1080...it's far beneath the power of red. RED can shoot in RAW allowing for no compression, 120 fps, 2-4k res, RAW changing of white balance and exposure....far superior. Don't get me wrong, the 5D is solid for certain uses, but given the opportunity you'd be silly not to take the RED. just my two cents.

    But the price is just ridiculous........drop 40k off it and it may be worth it..... and for sure 4k for cinema use knocks the 5d out , but for internet and DVD use , I have seen stuff shot on the 5d that blows the red away,

    its back and forth, i think the user has alot to do with it. But i've seen some great 7D, 5Dm2, Red, Hvx-200, Ex-1, and Gh1 films that all have an equal quality. The red is beneficial for movie theaters, otherwise ur just wasting money its true. I think the best camera out is the panasonic hvx and hpa's if ur look for a film look. The Red has raw, but a good image is a good image.

    a water housing for a 5Dm2 is probably like $1000 and if you rent one its probably like 50$ a day.
