Shakespeare is language. King Lear was written 400 years ago to be an aural experience, if not also a visual one. One's visual experience of the play would have been variable, but language remained the prime animator.

120 years ago pictures began to move and language became lip-reading and intertitles. For a time, music told the story, too. The camera was monumental, the frame unmoved.

"Lear" is a different look. It focuses the information analyzed in the periphery. A narrative unfolds as threads of content are connected and pattern is established. Where there is compression there is also expansion. It is looking at you, vast-expanse-of-art-and-technology-across-history.
