Sigg Jones is a student project I co-directed with Jonathan Vuillemin and Matthieu Bessudo aka mcbess. It was made in 2006 for our graduation using 3DSMax and V-Ray as a render engine. Check the website for more infos: siggjones.com

The stop-action reference fight sequence about 3 minutes in is genius. The part where it feels like a bunch of still images like a flip book… It is a great animation technique that I don't really see being used very often. It conveys the sense of fast-motion without actually animating one character moving in slow-motion.

Sorry, HD did not exist at the time, or at list was not a smart choice for students. Render time oscillated between 5 minutes a frame to 3 hours on a couple of shots.

Man this piece is one of my all time favorites, every now and then I watch it. U guys did an amazing job on this, I hope there will be a new one like this or even ten times better. It's been a while waiting for something new from u guys. I'm still waiting eagerly for the next one. Good luck.

Out of all the animations I've seen, this is still one of my favorites. Have very fond memories from a few years ago of crowding around a monitor with my students (who were OBSESSED with sneakers) and watching it over and over for weeks. You guys did a wonderful job with this.
