This video shows how to get a small baby on your back. The baby should have GOOD HEAD AND TORSO CONTROL before you try this, and please have a large mirror nearby so that you can check to be sure that your baby is in safely.
It's also helpful to have a soft surface behind you (couch or bed) when practicing, so that you can bail out at any time and set your baby down if it feels too tricky.
If you want to try an easier method, or if your baby does not yet have good torso control, please see the video for my back carry method using a couch or bed.
I am using an Ergo Baby Carrier in this video (which is no longer sell), but the principles are the same and this technique can be used with the Pikkolo Baby Carrier, Beco 4th Generation Carrier, etc.
Once you get your baby on, GO WALK AROUND. Do not stand in one spot. A baby in a new situation needs rhythmic walking movements for reassurance.
All carries are done at your own risk. Be safe and follow directions carefully, using common sense.
