Ma Yansong introduces recent projects by MAD Architects, including his ideas on Shanshui City. To Ma Yansong Shanshui City is a combination of city density, functionality and the artistic conception of natural landscape. This idea could be taken as a critique of the state of urbanisation in contemporary China and an imagination of future cities.

"The city of the future will shift from the pursuit of material civilisation to the pursuit of nature, aiming at composing a space that takes human spirit and emotion at their cores" – Ma Yansong.
