The Party | Riviera's second annual To Dine For event was a drop-dead stunner of high design and four-start fare, with 400 guests at the La Jolla Farms manse of Bill and Michelle Lerach. The Scene | Set on lush grounds featuring an aviary and sweeping views of Black's Beach below, guests perused the To Dine For tables and tasted the delectable fare. The concept? Partner S.D.'s top chefs with the city's best interior designers, let them dream up a theme, and go wild creating tabletops and menus to match. The Highlights | Our favorite tipple artists from Snake Oil Cocktail Co. doled out signature cocktails. Meanwhile, a massive four-tier "fountain" of cupcakes - courtesy of Lerach's Cups Organic in La Jolla - held center court. After falling prey to a few beguiling lemon mascarpone baby cakes, we should've jogged home. Proceeds from the auction benefited The American Institute of Wine & Food. The charity dedicated to culinary education and the celebration of gastroculture.
