Each year on November 4th, Italians come together to celebrate Italian armed forces day, a day of national unity to commemorate the allied victory in World War I and to pay tribute to the Italian armed forces, past and present. USARAF Commanding General, Major General Patrick J. Donahue, soldiers from the 173rd, Alpini soldiers and various other members of the Italian armed forces gathered in Piazza de Signore this year to mark the 95th anniversary of the cease-fire agreement signed by the Austrian-Hungarian forces Nov. 4, 1918, signaling the end of hostilities and the victory of Italy in World War I.
