El año del cerdo ("The Year of the Pig")

Chang Rodríguez, un repartidor de comidas de un restaurante en el Barrio Chino de La Habana, está cansado de su rutina y añora por algo que cambie su vida. Inconsciente de sus propios poderes, este se convierte en un instrumento del destino cada 12 años, en el Año del Cerdo.

Chang Rodríguez, a delivery boy from a Chinese restaurant in Havana's Chinatown, is tired of his routine and longs for anything that'll change his life. Unaware of his own power, he becomes an instrument of destiny every 12 years, on the Year of the Pig.

El año del cerdo es la tesis de 2007 de cinco ex alumnos de la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba.

Tras su finalización, el cortometraje ha tenido un exitoso recorrido por los festivales de cine obteniendo más de 20 premios incluyendo Mención Especial del Jurado en el Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián, Mejor Festival de Cortometraje Latino en el Festival Internacional de Cine de São Paulo y el Premio ARTE, que compró los derechos para Distribución de TV en Europa, a Mejor Cortometraje en el Festival Internacional de Cine Estudiantil de Munich.

El año del cerdo (“The Year of the Pig”) is the 2007 thesis film of five alumni from the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (“International Film and TV School”) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba

After it’s completion, the short film has had a successful journey through film festivals obtaining more than 20 awards including Special Jury Mention in the San Sebastián International Film Festival, Best Latin Short Film Festival in the São Paulo International Film Festival and the ARTE Award, which bought the rights for TV Distribution in Europe, for Best Short Film in the Munich International Student Film Festival.
