The traffic lights part (about half-way in) was great!

Thanks Brown and chromedecay. I need to play around with that idea a bit more. I was trying to jazz up the old driving time lapse cliche.

  • Very cool stuff. Especially when the camera is mounted on what seems like the hood of the car.
  • Andrew Laker 6 months ago
I mounted my D2h to a clamp and attached it to the sunroof in my car. I tend to get funny looks from people who notice it. When I hit a bump, the camera pitched forward and showed the hood of my car. I decided I liked that better than my original composition. Serendipity.

Loved it!! Thanks for sharing :)
The zoom out in the first shoot, did you do it manually?
@Michael: Not sure, but to me the camera seems attached to the roof
  • Andrew Laker 6 months ago
Glad you liked it. The zoom in the two static shots were done with motion control in Adobe Premiere. My D2h shoots 2464x1632, so this gives me plenty of room to play around in a 1280x720 project. I've tried doing manual zooms - the results are never smooth enough to my liking. Oh, and see above RE: how I mounted the camera.

Very nice. I loved the out of focus lights. What interval lengths are you using here?
  • Andrew Laker 6 months ago
Thanks -- Intervals are about 1 shot every 2 seconds. I don't have patience for much longer than that. :)

very cool -- zman told me about this -- i'd love to try my hand at it some time - if only i could find the time!

Andrew -- quick question -- are you saying the zooming I'm seeing is actually done in Adobe Premier? It's just wonderful.
  • Andrew Laker 6 months ago
Yes - the zooming is a lot easier to do that way, and it's infinitely smoother. It adds another element to the video. Next, I'd like to get my hands on a computer-controlled telescope tripod and do timed pans. If you want to see some breathtaking timelapses and use of pans, check out "Timelapser"

He's a filmmaker in Moscow, and his stuff is incredible. And thanks for the compliments!
