    Thanks for the feedback.
We used the ARRI 35-III MK1 35mm Camera Package for the live action ads.
    PD-150 for the iPod-ish one.
Programs - FCP, After Effects, Flash
    Keying - Keylight (amazing plugin)
As you'd assume - extreme low budget for all these projects - and yet we managed to shoot film which is the best decision of all (thanks to our DP).

DP: Norm Li - best DP around - check out his reel: q-films.com/reel08.mov

James, You've got a great eye and a nice sense of humor and humanity. Slick but not cold. Fun to watch. What is your background? Where are you based?

Hey, Richard. Appreciate your feedback - means a lot coming from you.
I was based out of Vancouver, BC, but I'm in Japan at the moment. My background is in Producing (for low-budget adverts, shorts, etc), but I'm currently head-on trying to make my dream of Directing a reality. I wish i had realized from the get-go that producing isn't the best way to build your credibility as a director. lol. live and learn, right?

Producing experience puts you way ahead of the game as a director. Movies don't happen in a vacuum - it's always about creative use of limited resources to fulfill a vision. Understanding the big picture as a producer gives you a built-in advantage. Now the trick for you as a director is to partner with someone who is as good a producer as you. That will free you to concentrate on directing, knowing someone has your back on the "real world" stuff.

I agree with what your saying 100%, Richard. But MAN! is finding a good producer difficult. I've met so many producers who just seem like the fly-by-night types that I wouldn't trust washing my dishes.
Well, we'll see I guess. I'll be going to a couple of production companies with this here reel and hopefully get something cooking.
I'm kind of liking the idea of directing a couple of no budget shorts/music videos though - haven't really done one in . . . well, since film camp actually. lol. they're so light and painless to execute compared to having any sort of budget at all - a good exercise of what you so eloquently phrased as "creative use of limited resources to fulfill a vision."

    cheers!
