Rochdale Indoor Fly-In, Sunday 16th March 08
This is the third incarnation of my CC Lee 2CH 54cm wingspan Piper Cub - not counting it's original forrm, which I never tried flying.
They come with a switched motor (not proportional) and a bang-bang (full throw or nothing) actuator rudder. It now has two 3.7g servos and a 35MHz receiver, plus a small brushless motor which seems a bit overkill for indoor flying.
After adding the new gear, it was too heavy to fly with the original wing and motor (crashed on take off) so I added the brushless one, and a second wing of the same sort to make it a biplane. That flew okay outdoors, but was a bit unmanageable, and crashed when it got a bit too far away from me to tell which way it was pointing. I decided to try for a slow flyer, by adding a much bigger single wing.
It's getting there, but it's too fast for that room. This flight resulted in a snapped fuselage. It flew again later, and made it back across the room - then crashed gently into the wall behind the pits. The glue gave way on the join, and the undercarriage broke again but it's feeling a lot better now, and will fly again soon.

Hmm…it looks like things are taking a while to load. Try again?
