My DP Mike lost 10 pounds to play the Daniel Craig version of James Bond. I think he nailed it. The brand decided not to iinclude any spots that required extra licensing costs, so this script was doomed before we even went into pre-prod (wish I knew it at the time).
We had a lot of fun in the San Gabriel mountains including being pulled out of Mike's Camaro at gunpoint by a pair of sheriffs who let us go after realizing we were harmless.
It was the first time we used walkie-talkies to communicate over the mile or so distance between where the vehicles were to start the action.
Making film is like being little kids playing wargames or clubhouse etc. Who would want to do anyting else?
