Lincoln faith, family, racial justice and community leaders gathered outside Rep. Jeff Fortenberry's office in Lincoln on November 21, 2013, for a prayer vigil to lift up Nebraska families separated by outdated U.S. immigration policies.
Attendees, which included members of NAACP - Lincoln Branch, League of Women Voters, Nebraskans For Peace, and Nebraska Appleseed, among other community members, withstood wet conditions and sub-freezing temperatures to pray for House action this year to update our laws, reunite families, and ensure future Nebraska families are not torn apart.
