Figi Productions are a London based film production company.
The 12s logo ident animation was created in Cinema 4D and After Effects. To create the effect I used a camera projection inside of C4D of the logo onto the falling letters. At the point where letters had finished falling the camera projection was used to create UV coordinates and lock the textures in place so that the letters appear to magically fall into the position of the logo. The falling letters were created using a cloner object and the letters and floor given rigid body dynamics.
There is a great tutorial from greyscale gorilla which shows the technique here: vimeo.com/62618808
I developed the technique further to have an invisible cube object to brush away the individual letters of the logo to reveal the logo underneath at the end.
The whole project was rendered using QMC global illumination & ambient occlusion inside of R13 version of C4D. The render time for the whole animation was 335 hours on a i3 mac pro.
