Ongoing project at the Side Effects Internship. The ocean flip integration was achieved using Houdini 12.5. It was done by birthing flip particles from the ocean tool and deleting those below the ocean surface every frame. Only the particles above the surface(splash particles) were kept. This allowed the flip simulation to follow the ocean surface exactly while adding splash details above the ocean surface. This method was presented by Sidefx at Siggraph 2013 and is now integrated as a default setup in Houdini 13.
